Xangati, a three-year-old start-up playing in application management, has got an add-on to its AppMonitor suite that pushes into virtualization, promising to resolve problems 50% faster using Web 2.0 principles.
The widgetry, called AppMonitor for Virtualization Management, an extension of Xangati’s Application Management 2.0 framework, is supposed to supply what traditional tools such as CA Wily and Compuware can’t and look at the world through the end user’s eyes.
The start-up’s targeting the enterprise and ISPs.
It says it will deliver performance transparency straight through to where performance problems lie, close visibility gaps and address virtualmachine and cloud sprawl without any agents or probes. It also says it can maintain application performance levels even in the face of major architectural shifts.
Xangati quotes Gartner VP Cameron Haight as saying, “Virtualization changes infrastructure physics related to time and space. The result will cause disruptions for management technology providers and consumers as many of today’s tools can’t support the new paradigm shift.”
Xangati claims it’s the only complete solution to provide end users with real-time insight into application activity on the network and now merges application activity with end-user response time to virtualized and cloud applications.
Xangati has also baked a Visual Trouble Ticket portal into its AppMonitor. It says, “Through a DVR-style delivered via a web interface, all the key players can look at a 15-minute recording and make an assessment of what’s at the heart of the performance issue – making it a faster and more direct route to problem ownership and resolution.”
